Heather MacInnis, B.A. (Psych.), MSW, Acc.FM
Heather completed a B.A. in Psychology and a Master of Social Work. With extensive experience working with children, youth, and families, Heather has spent the past thirty years in the youth mental health and child welfare setting. For over ten years, Heather has worked at the Office of the Children’s Lawyer, conducting investigations and reporting to the court on matters relating to parenting time and decision-making. In addition, she has spent the past four years conducting “Voice of the Child Reports” for the OCL. In both areas of assessment, Heather interviews children, youth, adults, and professionals involved with the family.
Heather is an accredited family mediator trained in Parenting Co-ordination, Conducting Voice of the Child Reports, and Conducting Parenting Plan Evaluations.
Believing in the importance of giving young people a voice, Heather has the ability to establish a healthy rapport with children and youth and create a safe, nurturing environment where they feel comfortable sharing their stories and experiences.
At Hyde Family Solutions, Heather will work with children to ensure their voices are heard during and after separation. In addition, Heather will be working with parents individually and together to develop effective co-parenting skills.
Heather is a member of the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts, including the Ontario chapter.
